a winning domain name

A Winning Domain Name

The domain name is one of the most important decisions you will make when
trying to win over the search engine dilemma. Try using at least one of your
best keywords within your domain name.
The search engine and the directories
give higher preference when your domain name is relevant to your site content or
theme.
Let me give you an example of three different ways you could look at
your domain name and how the major search engines will view them for
indexing.

www.trafficnmore.com
www.trafficNmore.com
www.traffic-N-more.com
Which
one would you have chosen?
www.trafficNmore.com, Right!
The search engines
may not necessarily see it that way.
Even though trafficNmore.com is easily
understood by the eye of the visitor, the search engine will not see the
difference between trafficnmore.com and trafficNmore.com.
Both are good
ranking for a site dealing with traffic issues.Even though you have the approval
of your visitor looking for your information, you could get a higher ranking
with the search engines by using www.traffic-N-more.com and still keep the eye
appeal for your visitor.

Here is why.
The hyphen breaks up a longer
domain name to reveal the major keywords that describe your website content or
theme. This makes it easier for the visitor to understand and most importantly
allows the search engine to detect your keyword for indexing right off the bat.
Cool, huh?
Moral of the story, give your visitor a break, be nice to the
search engines and they’ll be nice to you and give you lots of reoccurring
traffic for free.

what is a domain

31 May 2008 | No Comments » |

What is a Domain Name?

A domain name is your own cyber-estate. This estate,
just like its physical counterpart, has its value depending on its address
(name) and its content. You can charge your visitors or give them a free tour,
or run a side business as part of the estate.

Every domain name contains two or more components
separated by periods, called “dots”. The last part of our address, “com”, is
called the “top level domain”. The second part of the domain, is what is called
the “second-level domain”. It is also possible to have sub-domains such as
“subdomain.yourdomain.com”.

Just like a 5th Avenue address is limited and also is
more valuable than the vast majority of other addresses, the value of your
domain-name can vary from a few dollars to — well, some are going for a million
dollars. We cannot tell you what furniture, art work, or side business to have
on your cyber-estate, but your address would surely enhance the value of its
content, or might actually destroy its value if the name doesn’t attract
clients.

On a technical level, it is an addressing construct
used for identifying and locating computers on the Internet. Domain names
provide a system of easy-to-remember Internet addresses, which can be translated
by the Domain Name System (DNS) into the numeric addresses (Internet Protocol
(IP)) numbers used by the network. A domain name is hierarchical and often
conveys information about the type of entity using the domain name.

A domain name is simply a label that represents a
domain, which is a subset of the total domain name space. Domain names at the
same level of the hierarchy must be unique; for example there can be only one
.com at the top level of the hierarchy, and only one domainname.com at the next
level of the hierarchy.

shea class action settlement

31 May 2008 | No Comments » |

I received a check for $5.00 from

Shea Ligation Administor

c/o Rust consulting,Inc.

Oddly enough thats about it for the info, I found more by googling:

Shea vs. Household, issues GM MasterCard, over the timeliness of
processing payments.

It appears that there was a $16 million settlement
payed to holders of credit cards issued by Household.

It also appears
that the suit was filed through the law offices of Strange & Carpenter out
of Los Angeles.

  • Shea, et al. v.
    Household Bank (SB), National Association
    , OCSC Case No. OOCC12585.
    (settlement for $16 million)

I guess they hope(the lawyers) that most will be afraid to cash the check
thinking it is some kind of fraud.

I cashing mine,if you know any more about this please post a comment or use

How to increase the volume of your Razor Phone.( ringtone and speaker
    too!)

Read this if you own a MOTOROLA RAZR
    V3

Are you having hard time hearing what is
being said to you with your motorola phone razr

    ?

    Read on:

    I picked the
cell phone as it was offered free along with a matching one
for my wife in an offer from Wirfly ( we only paid for the shipping). I never
thought of asking about the volume of the phone. Being a construction worker and
always in and around background noise, I quickly realize I could not hear. I was
very disappointed to say the least with my new MOTOROLA Razor V

    BUT . . .

    I have found a fix!

There is a software that is a free download , you can access an interface in
your razor phone to turn up the volume.Just make sure you follow the
instructions for the motorola razr v3 driver or the software will not work on
    your PC – XP windows.

    You need :

    1. software

    2.USB cable

    - 1. Free Software

Go here to get the free software

    http://www.motox.info/

Go to Modding Software Downloads >

    select P2K programs >

    choose this to download
    P2KTools
    v.0.7.1.9

you must use the drivers that come with download for Xp windows

when installing make sure you select the drivers folder in the download
    kit

    C:\Program Files\MotoKit\Drivers

    to access :

Open P2K Tools, switch to P2K mode, click connect, when the red light turns
green you’re connected, click on tools, scroll down to gain table, set
earpiece volume to 4, do not set to higher or you may blow out your
    speaker

    - 2. The USB Cable

You must have this usb cable for your razr phone,as you need to “hook
    it up” to your PC.

You can buy this almost any where on the net heres a choice for you:
You can search here and maybe find the cable and the cd phone tools.

    free domain name p4

    31 May 2008 | No Comments » |

There is no such thing as a free lunch nor a free tld (Top Level Domain
)Someone, somewhere, will pay for it and usally you will.

When advertising for free domain names offers popup, often, owners / users pay
for that free name in some fashion or form. There is always a catch to having a
    free domain name.

The issues to consider a free domain offer are:

1.Is it a a subdomain or a real domain? The physical
    difference is

    http://www.yourdomain.com vs
yourfreedomainname.youmustpayforthis.com. The first one is easier for
users remember(if you have a hard time reading it how the heck can you remember
it?). You would own yournewdomain.com, but who every own the
“youmustpayforthis.com” part of the free domain name offer would own the
subdomain part too.Having Ownership of a real top level domain is one of the
most important issues to any websites success. Most fail to realize this fact
untill its too later and some one else(the owner of youmustpayforthis.com)
decides to take your traffic generated by you now popular FREE  subdomain
name.Buy a domain for your website and the future success of your online
business won’t be hampered by a lousy, free subdomain domain.

    1anames.com $8.99 year

2.A lot of  the real free domains are offered by web
hosting co. Hosts will offer free domains with a web hosting plan. Be careful
signing up for such service. You may end up with a free domain but a year’s
worth of junky web hosting service. The best advice is to keep your website
hosting and domains register with different companies. But not all webhosts are
out to get ya either :)

3.Consider naming your website so others know by seeing your
new domain name what your website is about.
